HHC Advanced Practitioner Surgical Onboarding Program (12.2026)

The goals of the program are to provide a baseline level of education on universally applicable practice related topics, establish a sense of community and support among new APs and get a head start on introducing this group to the culture of excellence and quality at HHC. The program is attended by new AP hires and run at CESI over the course of three days. The first day of program covers topics including billing, CDI queries, pharmacy tips, diabetes and quality. Day 2 moves into additional universal clinical topics like rapid responses, radiology, Zoll monitor familiarization, simulation scenarios and small bedside procedures like NG tubes, Foley catheters and wound vac familiarization. Day 3 is attended by our critical care and procedure based teams and focused on providing education on central lines, arterial lines, chest tube and feeding tubes followed by hands on practice and instruction on these skills.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (34.00 hours), ANCC Contact Hour(s) (34.00 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (credits designated as AMA PRA Category 1) (34.00 hours)

In support of improving patient care, Hartford HealthCare is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

• Nurses: This activity is designated for a maximum of 34.00 ANCC contact hours

• Other Learners: All other learners will receive a Certificate of Participation for a maximum of 34.00 hours of education. Consult your professional licensing board regarding the applicability and acceptance of certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit^TM from organizations accredited by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

• HHC or the sponsoring organization reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or modify this activity
• If the activity is cancelled, registration fees will be fully refunded
• Neither HHC, HHC CE, not the Sponsoring Organization is responsible for travel, lodging, or other incurred expenses due to a cancelled activity
• All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to HHC CE at [email protected]
• Approved refunds will be processed to the original form of payment within 30 days 

 Live (In Person or Virtual) Activity Cancellations

• Cancellations received at least 5 business days prior to the activity start date will receive a full refund
• Cancellations received less than 5 business days prior to the activity start date, or failure to attend the activity absent an illness or family emergency (no-show), are non-refundable 

 On-Demand / Enduring Activities

• Registration fees are non-refundable once access is granted
• Technical issues accessing an HHC CE activity must be reported to HHC CE @ [email protected]
• Do not contact the HHC IT Help Desk with activity access issues as this will create a delay in access
