HH Neuroscience Nursing Core (2026)

This course is designed for New Graduate and New to Neuroscience Nurses to learn the standard of care of the neuroscience patient (excluding stroke patients) on the floor level of care.

1. Utilize safe practices when utilizing EEG monitoring equipment for patient assessment and care.
2. Apply routine care components for the care of a patient with a glioblastoma and status post craniotomy.
3. Assess spine surgery patients for "red flag symptoms" that may signal postoperative complications.
4. Differentiate management approaches for agitation in patients with traumatic brain injury based on patient presentation and clinical needs.
5. Develop an appropriate seizure safety and assessment plan for patients experiencing seizure activity.

In support of improving patient care, Hartford HealthCare is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

• Registration fees are non-refundable once access is granted
