This sports health symposium will provide in person education for the ATC, PT, OT,primary care and urgent care provider. Atenndees will learn treatment and care for Posterior Shoulder Instability, Review mechanisms and clinical presentation of posterior shoulder instability Discuss current diagnostic strategies and surgical/non-surgical management options Wrist Pain and treatment of the Athlete to identify common causes of wrist pain in athletes Examine diagnostic techniques and management strategies for optimal return to play Meniscus: Current Trends and Treatment, Evaluate recent advancements in meniscal injury treatment Discuss indications for repair vs. resection and implications for athletes Chronic Tendinopathy About the Knee Explore pathophysiology and causes of knee tendinopathy in athletes Review evidence-based approaches to treatment and rehabilitation Seizure Disorders in Athletes Identify seizure disorder presentations relevant to sports medicine Discuss safety, clearance, and return-to-play considerations Return-to-Sport Testing: Current Trends Examine evolving protocols for return-to-sport decision making Analyze functional testing models and their role in athlete readiness ATC-led session on rehab protocols or functional return-to-play strategies PT topic with emphasis on collaborative care

1. Objectives: Define tendinopathy and describe its pathophysiology. Identify major risk factors and common clinical presentations. • Discuss methods used to diagnose tendinopathy. • Review evidence-based treatments including physical therapy, mechanotherapy and orthobiologics
2. Learning objectives Discuss the relevant elbow anatomy and biomechanics Discuss the epidemiology and risks factors for UCL tears Discuss the non-operative and operative management and outcomes of UCL tears
3. Objectives: 1. Understand treatment considerations for in-season and off-season management of recurrent shoulder instability 2. Understand initial management for first time dislocators in-season 3. Understand basic surgical treatment algorithm for recurrent shoulder instability for nonoperative treatment fails
4. 1. Summarize current conceptual models and definitions of scapular dyskinesia in athletic populations 2. Differentiate between commonly used clinical assessment methods (visual observation, dynamic tests, and Patient-reported outcomes) and apply appropriate selection in sports settings. 3. Critically compare key findings from contemporary literature regarding the relationship between scapular dyskinesia and shoulder pathology/performance. 4. Appraise the methodological quality and clinical relevance of rehabilitation studies addressing scapular-focused interventions. 5. Integrate evidence into a sport-specific, progressive treatment strategy addressing motor control, kinetic chain deficits and load management.
5. Objective: 1. Review the prevalence SCD in athlete 2. Review the causes of SCD in athletes 3. Review the data relevant to cardiac pre-participation screening
6. 1. Review anatomy of articular cartilage 2. Understand algorithm of treatment options 3. Understand management of concomitant knee pathology in the setting of cartilage injury.
7. Objectives: 1. Understand the pathophysiology of hip impingement and labral tears 2. Demonstrate non operative and operative management for femoroacetabular impingement 3. Review outcomes of management for femoroacetabular impingment
8. Objectives: At the conclusion of the talk attendees will be able to: 1. Understand what factors are involved in the return to play decision 2. Understand what the risks are of returning too soon 3. Understand the difference between returning to play following overuse injuries and traumatic injuries

Cancellations received in writing no less than 5 business days before the course will receive a full refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after that date.  All refunds will be made in accordance with the procedures of the HHC Accounts Payable Department, and may take up to 60 days.  Please send cancellation requests to continuinged@hhchealth.org.
