Many patients are eligible for screening and would benefit form it, but screening is under-utilized by providers. This activity will review a wide range of lung cancer topics, including physical examination, testing, referral, diagnosis, and treatment.

Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Describe the rationale for lung cancer screening amongst high risk individuals.
  2. Discuss benefits of lung cancer screening including early diagnosis and mortality reductio
  3. Explain lung cancer screening program components which help to ensure success

Credits
AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (3.75 hours), ANCC Contact Hour(s) (3.75 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (credits designated as AMA PRA Category 1) (3.75 hours), Oncology Education (3.75 hours)

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Hartford HealthCare and the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health. Hartford HealthCare is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Physicians: Hartford HealthCare designates this activity for a maximum of 3.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

Nurses: This activity is designated for a maximum of 3.75 ANCC contact hours.

Other Learners: All other learners will receive a Certificate of Participation.  Consult your professional licensing board regarding the applicability and acceptance of certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 5 business days before the course will receive a full refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after that date.  All refunds will be made in accordance with the procedures of the HHC Accounts Payable Department, and may take up to 60 days.  Please send cancellation requests to continuinged@hhchealth.org.
