Overview
HHC Pharmacy Continuing Education Series are structured educational activities designed to support the continuing development of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to maintain and enhance their competence in pharmacotherapy and pharmacy law.


Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. review current best practice guidelines, pharmaceuticals, and pharmacy law updates relevant to the practice of hospital pharmacist/pharmacy technician
  2. apply evidence-based recommendations for treatment to current patient care
  3. identify opportunities for additional education, multi-specialty or interprofessional collaboration, and quality improvement in the department, hospital, or system
  4. improve patient outcomes with an evidence-based medicine approach that utilizes process optimization, health information technology, research, and innovation
  5. Assess the different types of pain that patients may experience and the appropriate treatment recommendations.
  6. Identify the mechanism of action (MOA), unique pharmacokinetic (PK) properties, and special considerations for commonly used pain medications
  7. Evaluate the effectiveness of pain regimens based on specific patient characteristics and monitoring parameters.

Cancellations received in writing no less than 5 business days before the course will receive a full refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after that date.  All refunds will be made in accordance with the procedures of the HHC Accounts Payable Department, and may take up to 60 days.  Please send cancellation requests to continuinged@hhchealth.org.
