Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Review updates on the prevention and management of stroke.
  2. Discuss the diagnosis and treatment options of multiple sclerosis.
  3. Recognize various presentations of migraines and appropriate management of each.
  4. Provide an overview on the diagnosis and management of seizure disorders.
  5. Characterize the signs and symptoms of a concussion.
  6. Recognize the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease and review treatment options.

Overview
This class is developed to support clinicians in minority communities to review the most up-to-date information on the diagnosis and treatment of neurologic conditions, especially those more prevalent among minority patient populations.

Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, Hartford HealthCare is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Physicians: Hartford HealthCare designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 4.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. ABIM MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 4.00 Medical Knowledge credits in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.  Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity.  It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit. Nurses: This activity is designated for a maximum of 4.00 ANCC contact hours. Social Workers: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Hartford HealthCare is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program.
