Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Describe areas of current research conducted at HHC
  2. Connect with HHC investigators to discuss potential research collaborations

Overview
The research event will include presentations from four prominent HHC investigators; Dale Bond, PhD, Director of Research Integration, David Nicolau, PharmD, Director, Anti-Infective Research and Development, Godfrey Pearlson, MD, Director of Research Olin Neuropsychiatry Research Center, and Jill Rubinstein, MD, Surgical Oncologist, Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute. Previously presented scientific posters from HHC clinicians will also be on display.

Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, Hartford HealthCare is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
  • Physicians: Hartford HealthCare designates this Live Activity and Poster Presentations of recent presentations and research for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
    • ABIM MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.00 Medical Knowledge credits in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.  Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity.  It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
    • ABA MOCA:  This activity contributes to the CME component of the American Board of Anesthesiology’s redesigned Maintenance of Certification in AnesthesiologyTM (MOCA®) program, known as MOCA 2.0®. Please consult the ABA website, www.theABA.org, for a list of all MOCA 2.0 requirements.
    • ABS Continuous Certification: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME and Self-Assessment requirements of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.
    • ABPath MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity enables the learner to earn 1.00 credit toward Lifelong Learning (CME). 
  • Nurses: This activity is designated for a maximum of 1.00 ANCC contact hours.
  • Pharmacists & Pharmacy Techs: This activity is approved for 1.00 CPE contact hours. ACPE UAN: xxxxxxxxx-P and xxxxxxxx-T.  Awarding of credit is based on completing an activity evaluation form.
  • Social Workers: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Hartford HealthCare is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Hartford HealthCare maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive 1.00 [type] continuing education credits. 
  • All Other Learners: All other learners will receive a Certificate of Participation for 1.00 hours of education .  Consult your professional licensing board regarding the applicability and acceptance of certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education.

Cancellations received in writing no less than 5 business days before the course will receive a full refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after that date.  All refunds will be made in accordance with the procedures of the HHC Accounts Payable Department, and may take up to 60 days.  Please send cancellation requests to [email protected]hhchealth.org.
