Overview
Intended for practicing psychotherapists, this course will review behavioral, cognitive, and emotional aspects of psychopathology, as well as specific interventions including stimulus control, exposure, activity scheduling, skill training, cognitive restructuring, and acceptance.


Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Describe behavioral, cognitive, and emotional contributors to psychopathology.
  2. Create a comprehensive CBT case formulation.
  3. Use collaborative empiricism to interact with clients.
  4. Employ behavioral strategies such as stimulus control, exposure, skill training, and activity scheduling.
  5. Employ cognitive strategies such as cognitive restructuring and acceptance of thoughts.
  6. Employ emotional strategies such as relaxation training and acceptance of negative emotions.

In support of improving patient care, Hartford HealthCare is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
