Joint Chapter Symposium: CCONS and SWCONS Oncology Nurses Connecting in Connecticut

This learning event is for oncology nurses to have current knowledge related to cancer therapies and their management for patient and family support and education. Knowledge and implementation of best evidence are necessary to create positive patient outcomes. In order for nurses to obtain certification and to maintain certification they must obtain contact hours in certain content areas related to oncology competency for the generalist oncology nurse. Support for certification is a primary goal of the Connecticut Chapters of the Oncology Nursing Society, This symposium celebrates best practices and connection of our oncology nursing community.

1. The learner will identify resources available through ONS and healthcare industry partners that support ongoing professional development and clinical practice.
2. The learner analyze best practices for the assessment, identification, and management of oncology emergencies and selected oncology clinical conditions.
3. The learner will Examine the impact of psychosocial, organizational, and personal factors on patient, family, and clinician wellness.
4. The learner will evaluate the benefits, limitations, and safeguards associated with the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare.
5. The learner will identify educational innovations and practice-based strategies that enhance oncology nursing competency and team development.

In support of improving patient care, Hartford HealthCare is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

• HHC or the sponsoring organization reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or modify this activity
• If the activity is cancelled, registration fees will be fully refunded
• Neither HHC, HHC CE, not the Sponsoring Organization is responsible for travel, lodging, or other incurred expenses due to a cancelled activity

• Approved refunds will be processed to the original form of payment within 30 days

• Cancellations received at least 5 business days prior to the activity start date will receive a full refund
• Cancellations received less than 5 business days prior to the activity start date, or failure to attend the activity absent an illness or family emergency (no-show), are non-refundable

• Registration fees are non-refundable once access is granted
