This activity equips interprofessional clinicians with evidence-based, multidisciplinary strategies to diagnose, manage, and coordinate care for patients with advanced cardiac and critical illness while addressing technological, ethical, and systems-level challenges across the continuum of care.

1. Enhance multidisciplinary clinical decision-making for patients with advanced cardiac and critical illness by integrating medical, surgical, nursing, and systems-based perspectives.
2. Apply current evidence and expert consensus to the management of severe cardiovascular conditions, including cardiogenic shock, complex endocarditis, mechanical circulatory support, and prolonged critical illness.
3. Optimize outcomes for critically ill patients through the effective use of advanced diagnostics, emerging technologies, and safe care transitions across the ICU, transport, and transplant continuum.
4. Address the ethical, societal, and longitudinal challenges inherent in cardiac critical care, including addiction medicine, chronic critical illness, and coordination of care across disciplines and settings.

  • MOC for American Board of Internal Medicine:  Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 8.00 medical knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

  • MOC for American Board of Surgery:  Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.

  • MOC for American Board of Anesthesia: This activity contributes to the CME component of the American Board of Anesthesiology’s redesigned Maintenance of Certification in AnesthesiologyTM (MOCA®) program, known as MOCA 2.0^®. Please consult the ABA website, www.theABA.org, for a list of all MOCA 2.0^® requirements.

• Nurses:  This activity is approved for 8.00 ANCC hours.

• Interprofessional Continuing Education: This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 8.00 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credit for learning and change.
  

• All Other Learners: All other learners will receive a Certificate of Participation for a maximum of 8.00 hours of education. Consult your professional licensing board regarding the applicability and acceptance of credits certified by an organization accredited by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education.

 

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received in writing no less than 5 business days before the course will receive a full refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after that date.  All refunds will be made in accordance with the procedures of the HHC Accounts Payable Department, and may take up to 60 days.  Please send cancellation requests to continuinged@hhchealth.org.
