This educational conference features expert presentations, a multidisciplinary health panel discussion, and case-based learning focused on suicide prevention and the complex medical needs of veterans and active-duty service members. Topics include suicide risk identification, PTSD, environmental exposures, combat-related injuries, and strategies for coordinated community and clinical response. Emphasis is placed on practical, evidence-based approaches that improve early recognition, intervention, and outcomes for veterans receiving care in both VA and private-sector settings.

1. Identify medical and behavioral health conditions that disproportionately affect veterans.
2. Apply evidence-based screening and referral strategies to improve access to appropriate medical and rehabilitative care.
3. Integrate multidisciplinary and community resources into care plans to support suicide prevention and long-term health outcomes.

• Physicians: Hartford HealthCare designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 3.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
  

  • ABIM MOC: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 3.00 Medical Knowledge credits in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

  • ABPMR Continuous Certification: Successful completion of this CME activity which includes participation in the evaluation component enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME and Self-Assessment requirements of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABPMR credit.

  • ABS Continuous Certification: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME and Self-Assessment requirements of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.

• Nurses: This activity is designated for a maximum of 3.00 ANCC contact hours.

• Psychologists: Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs. This activity is designated for a maximum of 3.00 APA CEP credits. 

• Social Workers: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Hartford HealthCare is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program.  Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit.  Hartford HealthCare maintains responsibility for this course.  Social workers completing this course receive a maximum of 3.00 general continuing education credits.

• All Other Learners: All other learners will receive a Certificate of Participation for a maximum of 3.00 hours of education. Consult your professional licensing board regarding the applicability and acceptance of certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 5 business days before the course will receive a full refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after that date.  All refunds will be made in accordance with the procedures of the HHC Accounts Payable Department, and may take up to 60 days.  Please send cancellation requests to continuinged@hhchealth.org.

Hartford HealthCare reserves the right to cancel or postpone this program if necessary; in the event of cancellation, course fees will be fully refunded. We are not responsible for other costs incurred such as non-refundable airline tickets or hotel penalties.
