Evolving Approaches in HPV Related Oropharyngeal Cancer: Multidisciplinary Strategies and Opportunities for Treatment De-escalation

Head and neck cancer care requires multidisciplinary management. HPV-positive disease responds well to surgery or radiation with less toxicity; HPV-negative disease requires intensive multimodality therapy. De-intensification in HPV+ disease is limited to carefully selected low-risk patients.

1. Discuss multidisciplinary evaluation and coordination of care for patients with head and neck cancers
2. Review current surgical and nonsurgical management strategies for HPV related and HPV unrelated head and neck cancers
3. Identify key clinical considerations when selecting patients for treatment trials or protocols in HPV positive disease

It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of recognizing participation.  This activity is designated for a maximum of  1.00 ABOHNS Continuing Certification credits

• ABS Continuous Certification: Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component,] enables the learner to earn 1.00 credit toward the CME and Self-Assessment requirements of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.

All Other Learners: All other learners will receive a Certificate of Participation for a maximum of 1.00 hours of education. Consult your professional licensing board regarding the applicability and acceptance of certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 5 business days before the course will receive a full refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after that date.  All refunds will be made in accordance with the procedures of the HHC Accounts Payable Department, and may take up to 60 days.  Please send cancellation requests to continuinged@hhchealth.org.
