Overview
This symposium will help to bridge a gap between the community and orthopedic specialists. It will allow opportunities for community members, students, PCPs to get an overview on multiple orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions including, sports medicine, hand/foot injuries, spine care and postoperative complications.

Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Recognize the presentation and make the diagnosis of common orthopaedic conditions
  2. Review indications for intervention and the associated non-operative treatment alternatives
  3. Reviewing when operative treatment is indicated and what types of procedures are appropriate
  4. Discuss post-injury or post-surgery rehabilitation needs, return to normal activity, and continuation of care

It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.

  • Nurses: This activity is designated for a maximum of 4.75 ANCC contact hours.

  • Athletic Trainers: Hartford HealthCare (BOC AP#: P12155) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers (ATs). This program is eligible for a maximum of 4.75 Category A hours/CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.

  • All Other Learners: All other learners will receive a Certificate of Participation for 4.75 hours of education. Consult your professional licensing board regarding the applicability and acceptance of certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education.

Cancellations received in writing no less than 5 business days before the course will receive a full refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after that date.  All refunds will be made in accordance with the procedures of the HHC Accounts Payable Department, and may take up to 60 days.  Please send cancellation requests to continuinged@hhchealth.org.
