Click the Register button above to register. You MUST choose an afternoon session. If you fail to choose one, you will be assigned to the lecture group. The afternoon skills sessions are limited to 20 clinical providers (physician, nurse, APP, RT) each.

Venue is outdoors, under a tent, in a grassy field.  Please watch the weather and dress accordingly.

The goal of this activity is to provide the participants with the most current data on drug and device treatments for patients with acute cardiopulmonary shock.

1. Describe characteristics of a patient in shock.
2. Identify features for a patient requiring inter-facility transfer that suggest the need for expedited transfer.
3. Describe the indications and contraindications for targeted temperature therapy post cardiac arrest.
4. Identify key emotional and psychological features in the caring of critically ill patients from a patient and provider standpoint.
5. Discuss the pharmacologic implications of ECMO on medication administration.

  • MOC for American Board of Internal Medicine:  Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 15.25 medical knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

  • MOC for American Board of Surgery:  Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.

  • MOC for American Board of Anesthesia: This activity contributes to the CME component of the American Board of Anesthesiology’s redesigned Maintenance of Certification in AnesthesiologyTM (MOCA®) program, known as MOCA 2.0^®. Please consult the ABA website, www.theABA.org, for a list of all MOCA 2.0^® requirements.

• Nurses:  This activity is approved for 15.25 ANCC hours.

• Paramedics and EMTs: Credit has been approved by CT OEMS, CTOEMS-2025-287.

• All Other Learners: All other learners will receive a Certificate of Participation for a maximum of 15.25 hours.  Consult your professional licensing board regarding the applicability and acceptance of certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education.

 

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received in writing no less than 5 business days before the course will receive a full refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after that date.  All refunds will be made in accordance with the procedures of the HHC Accounts Payable Department, and may take up to 60 days.  Please send cancellation requests to continuinged@hhchealth.org.
