In-Person Attendees: This event will be held at Trinity College - 300 Summit St., Hartford, CT - Mather Hall

Parking: As you pull into Trinity College, please follow the signs for event parking, as this will lead you to two parking lots, lot O1 or lot O2. Details and directions are provided below.

 

There are multiple parking options, please keep in mind the academic year has begun and parking is on a first come first serve basis.

Campus security is aware of the symposium and requires that those in attendance to print the parking pass found in the packet emailed to you (page 5). Please place this on your cars’ front windshield. Parking passes will also be available at registration if needed.
There are several accessible entrances to the campus, please review the parking instructions for each available location.

Street Parking:

Street parking (city property) is available, and closest option to Mather Hall. Walking times to hall vary, depending on location.
Summit Street is parallel parking and open for anyone along with Vernon Street, Allen Place and New Britain Ave

Parking Lots:
Parking lots (Trinity College owned) are available as indicated in the map below. Event parking signs will provide guides to lots O1 & O2. Alternative lots will not have signage. Walking times to hall vary, depending on location. For reference, parking lot O1 is an approximate 15-minute walk.
The gym parking located next to Broad Street (1694 Broad Street) is visitor parking as well as the parking lots at the bottom of Vernon Street (65 Vernon Street).

 lot options are 175 New Britain Ave., 1289-1291 Broad Street.

     


Overview
We will focus on the clinical presentations, latest therapeutic options, role of speech language therapy, and the use of surgical interventions to improve symptoms.

Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Discuss the most recent advances in the medical and surgical treatment options for Parkinson disease and other movement disorders.
  2. Examine the significance of inflammation in Parkinson’s Disease.
  3. Discover the manifestations & treatments of gastrointestinal symptoms in movement disorders.
  4. Recognize the clinical presentations & treatment of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH).
  5. Explain how speech and swallowing are affected in movement disorders.
