Our goal is to provide evidence-based education on safe opioid prescribing, management, pharmacology of pain medication, Medication Assisted Treatment, patient transition, and managing pain with co-occurring psychiatric issues


Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Prescribe opioids in a safe and effective manner
  2. Apply updated research and treatment recommendations when treating pain-related complaints and co-occurring psychiatric disease
  3. Improve patient-provider relationships, patient outcomes, and patient satisfaction by identifying resources and engaging the patient in their care

    • MOC for American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM): Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 3.75 MOC point in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
    • MOC for American Board of Surgery (ABS): Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn 3.75 credits toward the CME and Self-Assessment requirements of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. Cancellations received in writing no less than 5 business days before the course will receive a full refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after that date.  All refunds will be made in accordance with the procedures of the HHC Accounts Payable Department, and may take up to 60 days.  Please send cancellation requests to continuinged@hhchealth.org.
