This sports health symposium will provide in person education for the primary care and urgent care provider. This years topics will include evaluation and treatment options for: Upper extremity injury from the shoulder to the hand, Lower extremity hip to foot as well as specialty presentations for concussion management, regenerative medicine and cardiac conditions for the athlete heart. The panelist of presenters will be available for questions and answer sessions following their presentations. Appetizers, cocktails, and networking before the event with dinner served during the presentations.


Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Apply evaluation and decision making tools in the assessment and treatment for athletic injuries
  2. Utilize special tests and clinical indications for advanced evaluation of athletic injuries
  3. Discuss the current concepts around the evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries
  4. Investigate causal relationships to identify reasons for specialty providers referral of care coordination of athletic injuries
  5. Identify common injuries associated with participation in athletics

In support of improving patient care, Hartford HealthCare is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
  • Physicians: Hartford HealthCare designates this activity for a maximum of 4.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 
    • MOC for American Board of Surgery:  Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME requirements of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 5 business days before the course will receive a full refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after that date.  All refunds will be made in accordance with the procedures of the HHC Accounts Payable Department, and may take up to 60 days.  Please send cancellation requests to continuinged@hhchealth.org.
