The IP Champ program is an 8-hour day spent with subject matter experts including, but not limited to: infection prevention, infectious disease, wound champions, microbiology and environmental services. Point prevalence studies will be completed for HAI prevention and environmental rounding.

Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Educate on the fundamentals of infection prevention in the acute care setting
  2. Highlight best practice standards utilized at HH to prevent hospital acquired infections
  3. Share available resources for education and best practice support including, but not limited to Elsevier and current policy/protocol
  4. Develop partnership with front-line nurses to promote compliance with best practice

In support of improving patient care, Hartford HealthCare is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Nurses: This activity is designated for a maximum of 7.75 ANCC contact hours.

Cancellations received in writing no less than 5 business days before the course will receive a full refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after that date.  All refunds will be made in accordance with the procedures of the HHC Accounts Payable Department, and may take up to 60 days.  Please send cancellation requests to continuinged@hhchealth.org.
