This program provides 1 hour of education regarding pain management, the safe prescribing of opioids, and the CDC guidelines.  This meets the CT Department of Public Health requirements for medical license renewal.  https://portal.ct.gov/DPH/Practitioner-Licensing--Investigations/PLIS/License-Types-with-Continuing-Education-Requirements

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Outline an overview of the CDC guidelines, including new commentary surrounding them
  2. Calculate Morphine Milligram Equivalents (MMEs) utilizing the CDC mobile app
  3. Review the role of medication-assisted treatment programs for patients with opioid use disorder
  4. Discuss non-opioid treatment options for chronic pain
  5. Describe options for tapering opioids
