The Infection Prevention Champion Program is geared towards Nurses and PCAs employed with HHC entities in Direct Patient Care.

Please note, agenda outline is subject to change. 8:00 – 8:30 Opening Remarks 8:30 – 4:00 Education and Simulation 4:00 – 4:30 Closing remarks

1. Educate on the fundamentals of infection prevention in the acute care setting
2. Highlight best practice standards utilized at HH to prevent hospital acquired infections
3. Share available resources for education and best practice support including, but not limited to Elsevier and current policy/protocol
4. Develop partnership with front-line nurses to promote compliance with best practice
5. Staff demonstrate competency through simulation and return demonstration activities.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (6.75 hours), ANCC Contact Hour(s) (6.75 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (credits designated as AMA PRA Category 1) (6.75 hours)

Nurses: This activity is designated for a maximum of 6.75 ANCC contact hours.

Other Learners: All other learners will receive a Certificate of Participation for 6.75 hours of education. Consult your professional licensing board regarding the applicability and acceptance of certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education.

 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 5 business days before the course will receive a full refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after that date.  All refunds will be made in accordance with the procedures of the HHC Accounts Payable Department, and may take up to 60 days.  Please send cancellation requests to continuinged@hhchealth.org.

Hartford HealthCare reserves the right to cancel or postpone this program if necessary; in the event of cancellation, course fees will be fully refunded. We are not responsible for other costs incurred such as non-refundable airline tickets or hotel penalties.
