The HHC Center for Equity Launch

Hartford HealthCare is pleased to announce the launch of its new Center for Equity, a new phase in the structure and sustainability of HHC’s system-wide equity initiatives. Embedded in the System Support Office, the Center for Equity will be a centralized hub of information and strategic guidance to shape and advance HHC’s equity value for patients, colleagues, and community. During this interactive event, participants will hear from senior leadership at HHC, community leaders and partners, as well as clinical and administrative leaders and implementers across the organization. From maternal health equity, to equity data and community engagement, this event will touch on various aspects of equity work at HHC, and share tools you can use to help achieve HHC’s equity vision.

1. Define the mission, vision, and work of the Center for Equity
2. Identify tools and best practices that can be utilized to advance the system’s equity vision and priorities
3. Discuss how an individual or team can engage with the Center for Equity
4. Review the experiences of our patients, colleagues, and the community regarding health equity, diversity, and inclusion
5. Discuss how to use the HHC Equity Commitment to respond to the needs of patients & families, colleagues, and community members

• Physicians: Hartford HealthCare designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 3.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
• Psychologists: Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.
• Nurses: This activity is designated for a maximum of 3.50 ANCC contact hours.
• Social Workers: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Hartford HealthCare is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Hartford HealthCare maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive 3.50 general continuing education credits. 
• All Other Learners: All other learners will receive a Certificate of Participation for 3.50 hours of education. Consult your professional licensing board regarding the applicability and acceptance of certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education.

 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 5 business days before the course will receive a full refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after that date.  All refunds will be made in accordance with the procedures of the HHC Accounts Payable Department, and may take up to 60 days.  Please send cancellation requests to continuinged@hhchealth.org.

Hartford HealthCare reserves the right to cancel or postpone this program if necessary; in the event of cancellation, course fees will be fully refunded. We are not responsible for other costs incurred such as non-refundable airline tickets or hotel penalties.
