Overview
Lectures to enhance Advanced Practice Provider (APRN and PA) knowledge base for commonly encountered acute care cardiology conditions. Sessions geared toward APPs; however, all HHC healthcare providers are invited.

Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Appropriately use echocardiography when re-evaluating established valvular and aortic disease.
  2. Identify the appropriate use criteria for noninvasive stress testing modalities to diagnose suspected ischemia.
  3. Discuss the importance of A/c pre and post conversation of atrial fibrillation
  4. Review the utility of cardiac MRI in the management of heart failure.
  5. Apply current treatment recommendations for carotid artery disease including best medical therapy and surgical intervention.
  6. Identify potential patients who may benefit from cardiac genetic counseling and testing.
  7. To recognize Lipoprotein (a) as an independent atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk factor
  8. To understand the clinical management of SCAD.
  9. To understand role of SGLT2 inh and GLP agonists as related to cardiovascular outcomes.
